Mexican clowns took part in a pilgrimage through Mexico City on Wednesday, traveling to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe as part of an annual tradition.
Clowns from across Mexico carried an altar and images of the Virgin of Guadalupe along the route to the basilica.
Outside the basilica, performers showcased juggling skills and comedic routines before entering to receive a blessing.
According to organizers, the tradition began after the founding of the Mexican Circus Clowns Club in 1979.
The pilgrimage has been held annually since 1981 to mark the club's anniversary and give thanks for the previous year.
The Virgin of Guadalupe, patron saint of Mexico, is revered by millions of Roman Catholic faithful across the country and beyond.
